ERGOMETRICS Ltd was formed in New Zealand in 1995 for the purpose of developing and marketing the ERGOMETRICS Dashboard software. The company founders were Michael Osborne and John Hanlon. Together Hanlon and Osborne have in excess of 50 years experience in the development of Information Technology Solutions.

Product and software development is based on meeting customer requirements and ERGOMETRICS works to achieve symbiosis with its customers.

ERGOMETRICS has created a new paradigm for corporate performance reporting using the philosophy of ­ “Action Reporting” for performance metrics.

Modern systems present opportunities for Action Reporting

While streamlining transaction processing across organisations is imperative, it does not adequately address the need for information output. Complex applications can have 15,000 cryptic tables, and can use effective-date data that is difficult to decode, and these systems can have problems handling complex reports because organizations often need to combine data from legacy systems to focus operational activities. Also these systems either do not track history, and or cannot handle complex performance reports. The criticality of the performance of strategic systems and the fact that they may not be designed to provide rapid reporting response to thousands of employees or partners is a major obstacle to achieving full ROI.

The ERGOMETRICS Solution

ERGOMETRICS uses a “staged data” approach to provide access to data for reporting and e-commerce applications. This consists of extracting data from production systems and staging it in the ERGOMETRICS Infomart. By not directly querying against production systems the operational impact of performance reporting is negligible, yet access to enhanced information (e.g., historical data, accumulated performance history, and aligned metrics) is constantly available.

The ERGOMETRICS pre-defined Infomart can accept data from any standard database. The supplied EXPORT function creates a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file with the required location and period information; data is then imported into ERGOMETRICS using the IMPORT feature. This Export / Import process can be fully automated using standard scheduling that may be event or date driven. There is no limit to the amount of information (and source data) that can be stored in the ERGOMETRICS Infomart.
